I'm trying to add my son's account, and I've already verified it here. However, he still can't join the server.

We've waited 48 hours, but it doesn't seem to have updated yet. Is there anything else we need to do, or do we just need to wait a little longer?

Now you need to wait for AutismFather to whitelist you, it usually happens 1-2 weeks after you register, but it can be less or more, it’s definitely worth it and I’m excited to see your son on the server!

verification is the first step in getting things started - after that, "being whitelisted" is a process of having your application manually reviewed, and if accepted THEN your account gets added and can connect to the server :) 

once that happens, you'll get an email saying youve been whitelisted! ^w^ (however, you might have to check your spam folder in your email since sometimes it goes there.)

100% agree it is worth the wait, though!
